About ACCA Hong Kong
About 43,000 members and students make up ACCA Hong Kong and China.
ACCA Hong Kong was founded in January 1950. In view of the rapid growth in the ACCA membership in Hong Kong, an office was set up in 1988. Twenty-four full time staff provide a wide range of services. Their responsibilities also include promoting the ACCA qualifications in Hong Kong, providing administrative and secretarial support to the Committee and assisting Head Office in mainland China. There are 15 members on the Committee, who are elected by members at the Annual General Meeting held in May each year.
Two elected delegates are sent to ACCA's annual International Assembly in London.
Students
ACCA Hong Kong aims to provide effective services for ACCA students/affiliates and to promote the ACCA qualifications to new students and employers. The ACCA qualification is internationally recognised and the United Nations has chosen the ACCA syllabus as the basis of its global accountancy curriculum.
Students wishing to study ACCA qualifications now register direct with ACCA. Student registrations can be made via post to ACCA Hong Kong office or online at the ACCA Initial Registration.
Students who registered with ACCA under the joint examination scheme can continue with ACCA's professional examinations despite the cessation of the joint scheme on December 2001. Provided joint scheme students complete all the examination papers by December 2004, they are still eligible to dual membership of both ACCA and HKICPA.
